The band is always on the look-out for new players (particularly juniors) to build up our numbers and to replace our senior members as they move out of the area or retire.

Most sections of the band offer parts of differing difficulty, and provide an ideal progression for less experienced members as they gain confidence and technique.  All sections of the band are led by very experienced musicians who are glad to give advice and assistance to new members.

The band has a huge music library and varies its programme totally every two months.  This provides sight-reading practice and musical variety that school bands (and many other senior bands) are not able to provide.

Nominal annual membership fees are charged, and instruments are provided free.
